Effective communication involves sending, receiving and understanding messages. Whether in writing, over the phone or in person, there are many things that can lead to miscommunication and the resulting misunderstanding can have serious consequences for organisations. Most of us develop our communication skills by mimicking those around us so if something in your directorate isn’t quite right, the whole team can unintentionally pick up bad habits.
